I remember back in High School our tenth grade english class had a unit on mythology. We focused especially on ancient Greek Mythology. I remember how the ancient greeks when they found a part of nature they could not understand they presumed powers of the Greek gods were behind it. 

 

For example, the Greeks believed their god Helios drove a chariot across the sky which dragged the sun along with it. This was their understanding of why the sun rises and sets everyday. According to Encyclopedia Britannica a myth, which is a symbolic narrative, usually of unknown origin and at least partly traditional, that ostensibly relates actual events and that is especially associated with religious belief. Myths are specific accounts of gods or superhuman beings involved in extraordinary events or circumstances in a time that is unspecified but which is understood as existing apart from ordinary human experience. 

 

 

Starting this week we are launching a new series called “MythBusting!” where we’ll look at 6 areas of Christianity that skeptics claim to be myths. In this series we’ll be “Busting” these claims and show real the truth from God’s Word.
